Weigh in and some personal data taken as part of my formal induction process. The weigh is was interesting and shocking at the same time. Overweight I certainly am and it was interesting to know where all the fat was situated – My Body fat analyses wasn’t high but what I did have was situated around my vital organs. This fat deposit feedback was interesting as it really scares you knowing that the fat I have is in dangerous and hard to shift areas. Diet and my regime of training though would change this.
My first test was a ten mile time trial on the static watt bike , I had to keep the revolutions up and keep my power as a consistent level staying within my hrm threshold zone . I found this test really hard but I had to go as hard as I could so that the parameters of my training by Gareth could be formulated and assessed.
The test was tough but set me up for the rest of my training on my home Turbo Trainer – three sessions a week of one hour duration with me to stay at threshold for 5 minutes the gradually winding down – what is called a pyramid. On top of this I was to do one core session a week on top of that with of course stretching between each turbo session.
