Summer Newsletter (2)

Hello!  Finally, it would appear that we have summer…or at least a few days warm enough for us to be able to call this a Summer Newsletter.

We have been slowly (Gareth more slowly than Cat) transitioning from working at our Cynergy hub in Fawley to working with our clients within the comfort of their own homes (or remotely via Zoom for others too far to travel). It has been an adjustment with sorting out scheduling and timings, but we love a challenge and are enjoying the change.

Unfortunately, with the rising costs of living as well as the ever-increasing prices in petrol, we have had to raise our rates.  This increase is scheduled to take place in September.  We hope that you will understand that we did not come to this decision lightly and we have put a lot of thought into this increase. In order to remain competitive, we have gone from £55 an hour to £60.  Most of you will not pay this top price as many of you buy in blocks of 5 or 10. For example, a block of 10 for an hour-long personal training session is now £540 or a block of 5 is now £285.  Should you have any questions, or want to switch from one block to another, please do get in touch.

On a lighter note, things are still very much the same with Cynergy PT…

We are working with our clients to help them achieve their goals just as we always have, but it’s been amazing to see them in their homes and meet their families – who we have heard so much about over the years.  Brilliantly, some family members have become new clients as a result.

Cat is looking for her next marathon to run next year, as her time spent in Texas to help her father has limited her ability to train properly, not to mention the metatarsal stress fracture she got back in May, which has kept her running down to a minimum.  However, she is planning to find a Trail Half Marathon to run later this year, to help kick start her training for a full trail marathon to run next year.  This should be interesting.

Gareth is also planning on a sporting event to do next year.  He plans to cycle the famous Paris-Roubaix cobbled sporting event next April.  This event is not for the faint of heart.  Having planned to cycle the event earlier this year, his efforts were thwarted when he came down with a chest infection and then subsequently threw his back out.  Neither of which are conducive to riding the cobbles.  So, new plan and new year.  Roll on 2024!

Jens and Heidi, our Standard Poodle mascots, are slowly moving into their retirement phase.   Heidi has embraced this idea with all four paws and is happy to sofa surf for the rest of her days, as long as the meals keep coming.  Jens’ is the more gradual retirement as he loves his Pack, and he loves to bark the orders to “keep running”, but time has taken its toll and as a dog that will be 14 years old in January, his back end is a little stiffer, and his eyesight is failing, as is his hearing…although that may be selective. He will still lead (if only from the back) the occasional short run or trek as long as he feels up to it. Regardless, they have both earned the right to have a more relaxed lifestyle in their advancing years.

That’s all the news for now, but we will have further updates in the winter.  Thank you to you all for bearing with us during these changing times.

Big Love,
Cat and Gareth Batson &
Jens and Heidi (the official Cynergy mascots)
