Times are tough at the moment and if you are having to prioritize other things over your health and fitness, why not try out one of our classes?  They are much cheaper than a One-to-One Session, you still get a great workout, and the other people in the class help to make it fun and easier to keep motivated.  Come and see what you think.

Class Prices

Your first class will only be £15, and if you decide to continue for the entire 6-week course, the Class block is £75.  If you are worried you won’t be able to make all the classes, then don’t buy a block and just pay the £18 drop-in fee.  Still great value for money.

If any of the classes have piqued your interest or you would like a bit more information, please do get in touch. (Our contact details are at the end.)

What Else is Going on at Cynergy?

In addition to our Classes, we of course also have One-to-One Personal Training, which can be done either face- to-face, or via Zoom.  Again, with rising costs affecting how we live and make choices, Cynergy PT is now offering 30-minute sessions and 45-minute sessions, as well as the standard hour-long PT sessions with most of our trainers. (Michael Sprott is only available for hour long PT.)  Both the 30 and the 45-minute sessions are available at reduced rates as they are shorter in duration.  Please do get in touch if any of the above appeals to you.

Women’s Health Physiotherapy is also available onsite and delivered by Sarah Cary. She specialises in treating and supporting women through pregnancy, birth, and beyond. She is also certified in Scar Work Therapy, which improves the health and feel of scars from surgery or accident. Sarah is a fully registered and insured member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and Health & Care Professions Council, and also an affiliate member of the Pelvic, Obstetric & Gynaecological Physiotherapy Society.

Massage Therapy is yet another treatment you may find at Cynergy PT.  Our Massage Therapists specialise in everything from Deep Tissue and Remedial Massage to Scar Tissue Release, and Lymphatic Drainage.  To book an appointment with Magdalena or Jackie, please contact Cat.

Booking System with Cynergy- New System Rollout

Well, it’s happening, albeit at a snail’s pace.  We are slowly introducing clients to our new booking system. There will be a few glitches to work through, but we are hoping as we introduce more people to it, the better the system becomes.  As a matter of fact, the person with funniest glitch or ridiculous problem with our new system will win a prize. An equally ridiculous and funny prize, but a prize nonetheless.

Cynergy DogFit – Couch to 5K Class

Cynergy DogFit is going so well at the moment that we thought we would offer a DogFit Couch to 5K – 6-Week Training Course.  This Class will begin on Saturday, 24th September at 11:30am.  It is primarily for those humans wanting to increase their fitness levels before joining Cat’s Pack on a run or heading out on their own, but the dogs will benefit as well from the mental stimulation.  There is nothing like the relaxing afternoon that comes after you have taken the dog out on a Pack run and they crash out from all the mental stimulation they had on their morning adventure…bliss.

Please do not worry if your best, furry friend has a behavioural issue or two. These days most dogs have some issues. But not to worry as our boy and Chief Cynergy Representative, Jens (pronounced Yens), is amazing at showing them the ropes…and frankly, he is the reason we started Canicross because he can be a handful at times, and this is the one activity where we can feel relaxed and in charge.  All dogs eventually learn that Jens has their back and we are all there to have fun.

We have all the harnesses on hand for both humans and dogs to try on and test out.  We just require that those planning on joining the class give Cat as much notice as possible so that she can make sure that she has all the appropriate sizes available on the day.

If you or a friend are interested, please get in touch with Cat.  She will explain anything else you might need to know for the class.  Cost for the 6-week Course is £150.00.  This includes the Couch to 5K instruction, the training tips, a review of relevant Canicross commands to help you and your dog to effectively communicate with each other, the harness fittings for both humans and dogs as well as the borrowing of kit. By the end of the course, not only will you be able to run 5K, but you will feel confident running with your dog and have a much stronger bond with them as well.  Not a bad way to invest your time and money.

This class is limited to 4 people, so sign up now to secure your place. (Our contact details are at the end.)

And if you are wondering… Dog of the Month will resume in September, once we have our full pack up and running after the Summer.

Top Tip for September

As most of us go through life we don’t pay particular attention to how we breathe.  Why would we?  It’s just something we do.  However, many people that walk through our doors have to be corrected or shown how to properly breathe.

Go ahead, take a nice deep breath and pay attention to what your chest and shoulders and belly do.  Does your belly extend to look like you could have a baby at that moment?  I will bet not.  I will guess that most of you raise your shoulders up and your chest pushes outwards.

Now, lie on the floor with your legs bent, feet flat, and your hands on your belly/diaphragm.  Now focus and try to make your belly push your hands upwards towards the ceiling as you draw breath in.  Then use your hands to gently press down and force air to expel from your mouth.  This is the correct way to breathe.  The more you practice this the better and more effective your breathing will become.

Some of you, when working out, gasp and wheeze and struggle for breath, but if you improve your breathing technique you will draw more air into your lungs without having to fight the tiny spaces in your chest because the lower and larger part of your lungs will be working more efficiently, thereby allowing more air to be taken in, minimising your need to gasp for air. Our lungs are just another muscle that needs to be worked in order to get stronger.  The more you practice, the better the result.  Just a thought.

Big Love,
Cat, Gareth and the Cynergy Team
